外資系証券会社審査部に入社し国内では大手鉄鋼および電機メーカー、海外では主にアジアの国・地域のレーティング（格付け）アドバイザーを務めたのち、日本株の株式調査に転向。
中国に進出する海外企業の拠点だった香港をベースにベンチャーキャピタリストとして活動。
帰国後、外資系証券会社で中小型株アナリストを経て外資系資産運用会社で日本株の調査部長、ファンドマネージャーとして海外の年金資金の運用に従事。2013年6月にブループラネット研究所（BPI）とワンダーニュースを設立する。2025年６月にワンダーニュースをBPIに統合。

Teruhi Fukano is the president and founder of the Blue Planet Institute (BPI) and wonder-news.com, an independent policy research organization. She received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Chuo University, Tokyo and began her career in a US securities firm as a credit analyst, being a ratings advisor for sovereigns in the Asian region and major companies in Japan. She then acted as a venture capitalist based in Hong Kong. After returning to Japan, she was a small- and mid-cap analyst at a brokerage firm. Ms. Fukano also served as an investment manager and the Head of Research at asset management companies, managing overseas pension funds with Japanese equities. Her broad international, financial experience and success has given her a depth of insight. She founded the BPI and wonder-news.com in June 2013.
